From time immemorial, humans have been searching for the fountain of youth, a mythical spring, the water of which would keep us young forever! 4. Its important to drink at least eight glasses of pure water a day. Mediterranean diets with the use of pure, raw olive oil and consumption of fish along with fresh vegetables everyday seem to be the best diet in relation to aging.
5. To get rid of impurities in our body, it is also important to exercise every day. The exercise should increase the heart rate so that the circulation improves and the fresh blood reaches every cell in the body to nourish and cleanse it. Fresh fruits with lots of Vitamin C help the body in healing and rejuvenation.
6. In the old days, people used to wear large hats or use umbrellas when they were out in the sun. With the advent of sun-bathing, people spend hours in the sun without any protection from the harmful ultraviolet rays. This has been a major reason for the rapid increase in skin cancer and skin problems around the world.
7. Smoking causes lung cancer and among other health problems can age a person considerably by breaking down our collagen, constricting our blood vessels and robbing our skin of nutrients thus making us look much older than our peers. Drinking alcohol also dehydrates our system and causes us to noticeably lose our youthful glow.
8. Other tools for anti-aging include Meditation and Yoga. Yoga increases our circulation, flexibility, lubrication of joints and ligaments as well as massages our internal organs for complete detoxification and delayed aging.
Meditation after yoga helps improve our concentration and mental strength, reduces high blood pressure and leads to a deeper level of relaxation that enhances our immune systems. The Mantra Japa type of meditation helps heal illnesses and allows us to melt the stress away.
9. Mental stimulation is also important to keep our youthful looks. Hobbies and other interesting pursuits, happy relationships with family along with a positive attitude go a long way in maintaining our health and prosperity.
